Frequently Asked Questions

Booking henna in Muscat for a wedding, an Eid gathering or just for yourself? These are the questions we get asked most.

How far in advance should I book bridal henna?
Book two to four weeks ahead during wedding season. Bridal dates around Eid and the summer wedding months fill first, so earlier is safer.
Do you travel to my home or venue in Muscat?
Yes. We cover Seeb, Mabela, Mawaleh, Al Khuwair, Ruwi and the rest of Muscat. Tell us the location when you book and we confirm the timing with you.
Is the henna natural?
We use organic henna cones only. No black henna and no PPD, which is what causes skin reactions and scarring.
How long does bridal henna take?
Full bridal coverage on hands, arms, feet and legs takes four to six hours depending on the design. Simpler bridal sets take two to three hours.
How long does the stain last?
Seven to fourteen days. Leave the paste on as long as you can, keep the area dry for the first 24 hours, and avoid scrubbing.
What does henna cost?
Individual designs start at 3 OMR, event bookings at 10 OMR per hour, and bridal packages at 50 OMR. The final price depends on the design and how much coverage you want.
Can I have black henna?
No, and we would encourage you not to have it anywhere else either. Black henna gets its colour from PPD, a hair dye chemical that is not meant for skin. Reactions range from itching to chemical burns that scar permanently. Natural henna is always some shade of brown, red or maroon. If someone offers you a jet black stain in an hour, walk away.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. You pay when the henna is finished. If your plans change, tell us as early as you can so we can offer the slot to someone else.
Will the stain be darker on some people?
Yes. Skin temperature and skin thickness both affect it, which is why the same cone gives a darker result on palms than on forearms, and why the design deepens more on a warm night than in a cold room.
Can I choose my own design?
Bring a photo. We work from references all the time and would rather match something you already love than guess. We can also design around your outfit, your jewellery or a specific motif if you would prefer something no one else has.
Is henna safe during pregnancy?
Natural henna is widely used during pregnancy in Oman, India and across the Gulf. We use no chemicals, so there is nothing in our cones that is not already common in food and cosmetics. If you have a skin condition or you are unsure, ask your doctor first and we can do a small patch on the arm a day ahead.
How quickly can you come?
Message us on WhatsApp at +968 9455 4533 with your date, your location in Muscat and the style you want. Individual designs often fit within a few days. Event bookings need one to two weeks and bridal work two to four weeks, longer during Eid and wedding season.
